The Shareware Concept

This is a shareware product. You can freely copy and distribute the shareware version of the game provided you make no modifications to it. Once you register your game you  may NOT distribute or share any copies of the game, or your registration code. The shareware version is exactly the same as the registered version with the following limitations:

1. You can only play a match up to 5 points. The registered version allows you to play up to 25 point matches.

2. In Career mode, once you reach the round of 16 in a tournament you automatically forfeit the game.

3. Once you play a few matches a short “delay screen” will appear before each match. This delay grows longer as you play more matches.

To register the game, click here or visit our website at http://www.3eplay.com .

Strategy, Hints and Tips

Serving

Before each game you see the opponents' skill ratings. Use these ratings to determine which of the 2 players is the better spiker and direct your serves away from that player. Don’t forget to look at the Rollshot skill as well.

Bumping/Serve Receive

Try to aim your passes fairly close to the net, this gives your partner a better angle to set the ball. However, make sure your passes are close enough to your partner so that he doesn't have to go too far to get to it.

Setting

The location of the set is very important in determining how good the spike will be. Make sure you set the ball close enough to your partner so that he has enough time to  jump up and spike it, this is especially important for slow players. Setting the ball close to the net gives the spiker a better angle to hit the ball downwards, making the spike harder to retrieve. However, setting the ball close to the net also makes the ball easier to block.

Spiking

You have two goals in spiking: avoid the block, and avoid the digger. To avoid the block you must either hit beside him, or over him using a rollshot. To avoid the digger you must hit away from him. Sometimes the digger changes his position at the last second in an attempt to trick you.

Digging/Blocking

Try to have your best blocker blocking, and your fastest player digging. However, if your digger is not a very good spiker it may pay off to have the better spiker do the passing (so that he gets more opportunities to spike). "Peeling" the blocker off the net  the last second will often result in an easy pass for one of your players. However, if you do this too often the opponent will catch on and adjust his spike. Similarly, changing the location of your digger at the last second will often fool the spiker.

Career Mode

Creating Your Players

Before you begin a career you must first customize the look of each player, and give each player a name. Next you are given 25 free “Tour Points” which allow you to improve the skill attributes of each player. The following is a description of each skill attribute that you can change:

Attribute

Description

SPEED

Determines how fast your player can run on the sand. This is very important in digging opponent’s spikes as well as blocking.

BUMP

How accurately a player can pass the ball to his partner after a spike or serve

SPIKE POWER

How hard a player hits the ball during a spike.

SPIKE ACCURACY

Determines how well a player can control his spikes.

ROLLSHOT

A rollshot is softer shot you can use to hit over the opponent’s block. This attribute determines how accurate this shot is and how much “topspin” the player can put on it.

BLOCK

Determines the area that a blocker’s hands can cover while attempting to block a spike.

SERVE POWER

How hard a player can serve.

SERVE ACCURACY

How much control a player has over his serve.

The World Beach Volleyball Tour

The WBVT consists of 116 total teams one of which is controlled by you. Each season consists of 6 tournaments: 5 regular tournaments plus the World Championships. When you first begin your career, you will first have to qualify to make the “main draw” in each tournament. Once your World Ranking is 20 or higher you will automatically be entered in the main draw. Depending on how far you get in a given tournament you are awarded Tour Points which determine your World Ranking. In addition you are awarded Skill Points to improve your players at the end of each tournament.

Improving Your Players

At the end of each tournament you get a certain amount of  Skill Points which let you improve your players. The amount of skill points you receive depends on how well you did in the tournament (winning tournaments is the fastest way to improve).
